Analysis Packages
Publish complete analyses — data, plots, and canvas — for your team.
Analysis packages let you publish a complete analysis -- data, plots, and canvas layout -- to your organization. Team members can open any package and get a fully restored workspace, ready to explore or extend.
Overview
When you publish a package, Omics-OS snapshots the current session: data files (e.g., h5mu), generated plots, and the canvas node arrangement. The package is stored in your org's shared space. Any org member can browse published packages and open one into a fresh session with everything restored.
Each opened package is an independent copy. Members can modify their version without affecting the original or anyone else's work. The source package is tracked as provenance -- sessions opened from packages show a Package badge so you always know where an analysis originated.
How to Publish
Complete your analysis
Work in a session until you have results worth sharing -- loaded data, generated plots, and a canvas layout that tells a clear story.
Open the publish dialog
Click the Publish to Team icon in the chat header. Add a name, description, and optional tags to help teammates find your package.
Publish
Click Publish. The package appears in your org's Analysis Packages section, available to all members.
Opening Packages
Open the Data drawer from the activity bar. The Analysis Packages section lists all packages published to your org. Each entry shows the package name, description, number of datasets, number of plots, and whether it includes a canvas layout.
Click Open on any package. A new session is created with the data files copied over, plots restored, and the canvas layout rehydrated with all nodes in their original positions.
Packages include canvas layout and data files, but chat history from the source session is not included. The new session starts with a clean conversation.
Tips
- Use descriptive tags. Tags like "QC", "differential-expression", or "patient-cohort" make packages easier to find as your library grows.
- Packages are fork-on-open. Every member gets their own copy. There is no risk of overwriting the original.
- Check the Package badge. Sessions opened from packages display an indigo badge in the sidebar and canvas footer, linking back to the source.
- Only org admins can publish and delete packages. All org members can browse and open them.
